Castle Avenue, leading to The Great Hall, has some cobbled and uneven surfaces.
A low ramp is in place for access to the Great Hall and Queen Eleanor's Garden. Seating is available in the Great Hall and garden.
A gift shop, gallery and accessible toilet, with a baby changing unit, are available on site, acessible via a stone staircase. A lift to these areas is available for wheelchair users. Please see a member of staff on arrival or ring the bell near the stone steps for assistance.
Guide dogs and identifiable assistance dogs are welcome.
878 AD is fully accessible for wheelchairs. It is on one floor in The Brooks Shopping Centre and can be accessed either by a ramp from street level or by lift. Clearly identifiable assistance dogs are welcome.
The attraction includes multi-sensory elements, such as sounds. At times, the lighting is dimmed and there is flashing imagery.
878 AD: Winchester Revealed takes you on a route through the city’s busy centre. While you are using the app, please be mindful of other people and be aware of your surroundings, particularly when crossing or standing near roads. The app is best used in daylight conditions. Winchester is an historic city set on a hill, some of its streets are narrow and uneven and are also cobbled in places. Routes within the city centre can also be steep.

We regret this Grade I listed building is not wheelchair accessible. There is a steep staircase from the street entrance. Hearing loops are available. For those with visual impairments, there is a 'touch and hear' information point. There is no toilet in the Westgate.

City Museum is fully accessible, with a lift to all three floors. There is on‑street parking for Blue Badge holders located next to the museum.
